Coghead Extreme Programming
Welcome to Coghead Extreme Programming! The Extreme Programming (XP) application is a full-featured application available for all Coghead members to use, designed to facilitate project management for small- to mid-sized software engineering groups employing the Extreme Programming method of agile software development.
This guide presents an overview of how to use the application, as well as some tips on how to customize it if you wish. In Coghead’s Do-It-Yourself spirit, anyone can make their own edits to XP. Change it, use it, and share it with your friends!
What is Extreme Programming?
Extreme Programming is a software development methodology developed by Kent Beck in the mid-1990s. It emphasizes “agility” in responsiveness to changing requirements (rather than attempting to keep requirements stable at all costs), and has gained quite a bit of favor in the years since its introduction.
If you need a basic introduction to the Extreme Programming methodology and theories behind it, we recommend the following books:
