Adobe? After Effects?7.0 is the perfect environment
for creating a unique, dynamic motion menu for
your Adobe Encore?DVD project. Adobe Production
Studio makes the process of working between the
two applications seamless, thanks to Adobe Dynamic
Link. Moreover, After Effects includes professionally
designed motion menus and backgrounds ready for
use. In this tutorial, we’ll use Adobe Encore DVD,
Adobe After Effects 7.0, and Adobe Dynamic Link
to replace a still background in a DVD menu with an
animated one.
The files used in this tutorial are on Disc 2 of the Total
Training Video Workshop, included with Adobe Production
Studio. Depending on the television standard
for your region, copy either the NTSC or PAL folder
from the Adobe Production Studio folder to your
desktop. Alternatively, you can follow along using your
own files. You’ll need an Encore project that contains a
layered menu and a timeline.
To complete the tutorial as written, make sure that
you’ve installed the Cycore plug-ins from the After
Effects DVD. (If you haven’t installed the Cycore plugins,
you can still complete the tutorial, but the animations
won’t be as colorful as they could…
