Perhaps you’re new to Adobe?After Effects?and are
wondering how to jump in and create a text animation.
Or maybe you’re an experienced After Effects
user interested in the new text presets, project templates,
and animation behaviors included with After
Effects 7.0. Either way, have no fear: Creating and customizing
your own animation in After Effects requires
only a few simple steps, even when you’re working
from scratch, with no source elements.
The files used in this tutorial are on Disc 2 of the Total
Training Video Workshop (included with After Effects
or Adobe Production Studio). Depending on the television
standard for your region, copy either the NTSC
or PAL folder from the Adobe After Effects 7.0 folder
to your desktop. Alternatively, you can follow along
using your own files. You’ll need a logo file, preferably
in Adobe Illustrator format.
Open a template and customize
text
Typically, even the most basic composition includes
at least two layers: a background and a foreground.
In this composition, you’ll create the background by
using a template, and you’ll create the foreground logo
animation by using a preset behavior.
