I. To Access a Running CADI Program
When the CADI system is turned on or restarted, it will automatically run the CADIRUN
program using a graphics system called VNCserver. Therefore these notes assume that the
CADIRUN program is running in the VNC.
There are several possible states for the CADI depending on what a previous user left for
you. You can tell which procedure to use by looking at the screen and comparing it with
figures shown for 1), 2), 3) sections of this manual.
1) If the CADI shows the Linux login window, which looks like Figure 1, then:
a) Login
The login window will ask for your login
name and password. The login name should be
same as the user who is running VNCserver and
CADIRUN (in our system, it is “cadi”). In addition
(see the third line of login), you can select varies
desktop environments (usually you select KDE) in
the login window. KDE is an easy to use desktop,
which is similar to Microsoft Windows. It is
recommended for the beginner.
