If you connect to the HWS domain, you will be connected to the local area network and your
network drives will automatically map. You should also be an administrator of your own
computer, so you can install software.

To join your computer to the HWS domain:
1. Turn on your computer; wait until your computer has started
2. Log in with the username administrator and the password you have set for it
If you have not set a password, choose one now and be sure to remember it. We suggest
using the same password as for your e-mail login.
Warning: if you forget the administrator password we cannot recover it.
3. Click Start
4. Right-click My Computer
5. Click Properties
6. On the Computer Name tab, click

7. In the Computer Name text box, enter your
username
8. In the Domain text box enter hws.edu
9. Click OK
10. When asked for an account with permission to
join/rename this computer in the domain, enter
your HWS username and password
11. Restart the computer…
