Installing the new ODBC Drive on Windows XP
Follow this documentation step by step to install the new ODBC driver on your machine.
Hardware and Software Requirements
Windows
ODBC client driver requirements (Windows) 1 Pentium 300 MHz or faster
1 64 MB total RAM for Windows 2000, 128 MB total RAM for Windows XP
1 Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6, 2.7, or 2.8
FileMaker 7, FileMaker 8, FileMaker 8.5
(XP Pro is required for FileMaker 8-8.5)
The new ODBC drivers for Windows can be downloaded from this link:
http://www.filemaker.com/developers/resources/odbc.html
Windows
Open the folder where you have saved the file.
Figure 3. Folder contents. Select the setup.exe to install the driver.
Once you have double clicked on the setup.exe executable, the installer will launch.
The Files will be installed at this location:
C:Program FilesDataDirectslodbc54. Choose another drive or another folder if you wish.2
