Fireworks Exercise Creating a School Banner
1. Set UP
a. Open Fireworks
b. Go to File .. Open ..Navigate to My Documents.. Fireworks_Introduction folder .. file:
“school”
c. Select the file “school” and click on the Open button.
2. Note the layers panel
a. If you don’t see the layers panel, go to Windows .. Layers and check to view
b. In the right column, open the Layers panel by “twisting” the triangle in front of the word
“Layers”
c. Now you will see your image in a tiny view within the layer panel.
d. The default name is bitmap.
e. Change the name for easier identification of layers later.
f. Double click in the tiny view on the name “bitmap” and change to “orig school”
3. Draw around the building using the lasso tool.
a. Select the lasso tool from the bitmap tool bar menu
b. Click and drag from point to point to complete the border around the school building itself.
