Part I deals with the basic tools.

Part III pertains to site management, and more advanced topics.
Part IV explains how to construct a style sheet
Part V is a ready-to-use model for a course website

Terminology: Select is done with a single click. Highlight requires a click-and-drag movement
to highlight test. A sequence of menu steps is indicated by >, (e.g., for a new page, use File >
Open).
NOTES:
With Dreamweaver software, you can create, view, and organize an entire web site. Although it
is possible to start constructing a web site by composing individual pages, it is best to define and
set up the general site structure ahead of time.
When posting information to the Web, you should always use ‘Web-Friendly File Names’: Use
only A-Z, a-z, 0-9, and _ in the file name. Do not use spaces or other punctuation. Always add
the file extension (.htm, .jpg, .pdf, etc)
When navigating the web, the first page that opens in any folder is called either default.htm or
index.htm. Using these file names for your ‘home page’ and the ‘home page’ in every folder
will simplify your URL (web address).
We recommend that you always maintain an exact replica of your web site on your local
