Steve Bellovin, a member of the National Academy of
Engineering, is a professor of Computer Science at
Columbia University. He is one of the creators of
Netnews, a long-time researcher on network security,
and co-author of the first book on firewalls.

Bill Cheswick is Chief Scientist at Lumeta, a company
he co-founded to explore commercial intranets and
the Internet. Ches did early work on firewalls and
proxies and is co-author of the first book on firewalls.

science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001.
Currently he is an associate professor of computer
