Notice - Sovera access failure when using Internet Explorer 7.0 from University network:
Situation: Using Internet Explorer 7.0 causes application access issues when used for Sovera version 7.1.3 (current version)
Background: Computers on the McMaster University Network have installed the Sovera program that provides access to scanned patient information or access to complete charting requests. Recently a problem was identified where staff would patch the windows operating system to install version 7.0 of Internet Explorer. Removing the patch did not resolve the access problem.
Direction: If you have elected to honour the Microsoft operating system updates for all patches you will need to ensure you are following the process for custom patch installs and de-selecting the patch for IE 7.0 known. This will prevent IE 7.0 being installed and allow access to Sovera to continue using the IE 6.0.X version. For IE 6.0 ands XP there exists a known patch ( kb912945 ) that should not be applied in order to allow the application to function as expected.
