Fleet and Accelerated Reliability Testing - September 2006
A total of four model year 2003 Generation I (Gen I) Honda Civic hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) entered Fleet and Accelerated Reliability testing during May 2002 in two fleets in Arizona. Two of the Gen I Civic HEVs were driven 25,000 miles each (Fleet testing) and the remaining two were driven until they accumulated approximately 160,000 miles each (Accelerated Reliability Testing). One reached 161,000 miles in February 2005 and the other 164,000 miles in April 2005. The two 160,000 miles Gen I Civic HEVs had their fuel efficiencies retested on dynamometers (with and without air conditioning) and their batteries were also tested. The results of this testing can be found in the end-of-life testing report titled: Hybrid Electric Vehicle End-of-Life Testing On Honda Insights, Honda Gen I Civics and Toyota Gen I Priuses.
