Two and a half years after the introduction
of its “no-compromise” S2000 sports, Honda
has given the car a cosmetic makeover and
introduced some mechanical tweaks and minor
equipment changes.
Externally, the S2000 gets restyled front and
rear bumpers, a polished finish on the five
spoke alloy wheels, chrome taillight surrounds
and a heated glass rear window in the hood in
lieu of plastic.
Inside, there’s now a metallic silver finish on
several components, storage nets in the doors,
and additional noise insulation in the gearbox
tunnel. The 8-stack CD stereo system that was
added in January 2001 now gets two tweeters
located in the driver and passenger doors.
Mechanical changes are limited to the
suspension. Honda says the S2000’s suspension
has been re-tuned…
