This manual will give you step by step instructions on how to use Visual
Servo Automation (VSA) to operate the Robodyssey ESRA equipped with a Mini
SSC II. We will start from the assumption that the user has comfort negotiating
with windows.
A bit about the Mini SSC II:
The Mini SSC II is a very clever and cost effective device. Each Mini SSC II
has the ability to control 8 hobby servos. That means that it is possible to operate 2
ESRAs from a single controller since each ESRA has 4 servos. Two Mini SSCs can
be ordered and configured to work together giving the ability to operate 16 servos
or 4 ESRAs. Now, you can program your own barbershop quartet! In fact, Mini
SSC IIs can be ordered with special addresses programmed in so that 32 Mini SSC
IIs can be chained together. That means 255 servos. That means 127 ESRAs! Now
we’re talking an entire choir! The beauty of the Mini SSC II is that it can do all this
with very simple commands.
