TEXT: Fundamentals of Precalculus, by Dugopolski
CLASS DESCRIPTION: This class will cover several topics in both algebra and trigonometry that will
help better prepare students for Calculus 1.
TESTS: 1. There will be four major tests during the term. Each test will count 100 points. The test
questions will be similar in format to the examples in class and the homework problems.
2. At least six quizzes will be given throughout the semester. Each quiz is worth 20 points, and your five
highest quiz grades will count toward your final point total.
3. The final exam is comprehensive and counts 200 points.
FINAL GRADE: The cumulative point total is 600 points - tests: 300 (one dropped), quizzes: 100,
exam: 200. The following point scale will be used to determine your final grade.
Grade Points Necessary for Grade
A 540 = 90% of 600
B 480 = 80% of 600
C 420 = 70% of 600
D 360 = 60% of 600
F Below 360
