Text: An Introduction to Mathematical Reasoning,
numbers, sets and functions

This course is an introduction to the art and practice of mathematical reasoning.
The intended goal is for the student to acquire familiarity with and mastery of the
tools needed to write proofs.
The focus of this course is on arithmetic and in particular the theory of positive
integers as a gateway to abstract Mathematics.
Syllabus: I hope that we will be able to cover most of the following subjects.
I Mathematical statements and proofs
II Sets and functions
III Numbers and counting
IV Arithmetic
V Modular arithmetic
VI Prime Numbers
