A step-by-step guide to compiling (or ‘building’)
a C++ program with Project Builder in the MTCL

1. Open Project Builder
Project Builder should be in the following path:
‘Macintosh HD/Developer/Applications/Project Builder’.
If you can’t find it, search for it using the Finder’s Find function. Also, it seems to
be the default application associated with C++ files in the MTCL, so it should
open automatically when you double-click on a .cpp file.
2. Open a ‘C++ Tool project’
i. From the File menu, select New Project…
ii. Scroll down to the Tool subsection, and select C++ Tool
iii. Press Next
iv. For the Project Name, type HelloWorld
v. For the Project Directory, select your own Documents folder
( Click the Choose… button, and in the window that opens, select
Documents from the left-hand column. )
vi. Press Finish
3. Enter/modify the source code
i. To see the source code in the project, click on the source tab in the
Groups and Files window
