1 Introduction
The purpose of this tutorial is to help you become acquainted with some of the basic computer vision techniques used in Maslab and with image processing in Java. Once IAP starts, you will have less than a month to build and debug your robot. The goal of this tutorial is to enable you to hit the ground running. There are two tasks that we would like you to complete before IAP: blue line filtering and red ball finding. These are two tasks that your robot will likely need to perform regardless of the details of the contest. If you are unfamiliar with Java, we strongly suggest that you look at Sun’s Java Tutorial, 1 and that you check out the O’Reilly bookson Java.
2 Image Processing in Maslab
