MicroStation Tips & Information:
Tired of zooming in and out in a file?
MicroStation has 8 windows you
may work in. Each window is
simply another working view of
your file. Open a new window
from the menu bar and scale it
down until it fits your entire
sheet. Place this window where
it is the easiest for you to work.

Fig. M.1)

Next, select the Window Area icon and the option
button will read Apply to Window. The option button
will have a number in it for one of the 8 windows
available (Fig. M.2). This number has control over
which window will be updated when selected. Simply
check the box (darkened) and select an area in
Window 2. Window 1 will now update with the area
you have selected. No more Zooming in and out! FIGURE M.2
On the Window pulldown, select Open/Close, then the Dialog option (Fig. M.3). Use the
numbered dialog box to toggle between views or to turn views on and off.
If you need to move around in any view, hold down the Shift key and place a data point on the
screen. Now release the Shift key and as long as you hold down the data key on your mouse,
you may pan anywhere in that view.
