Microstation Tips & Information:
Establishing a Precise Origin when using PowerSelector and the Windows Clipboard.
Select the PowerSelector tool.
Highlight the information you
want to place on the clipboard.
Now, before you go to the edit
menu and pick copy (to make
use of the clipboard), use your
tentative snap to locate where
you want the origin to be when
your selection is being pasted
from the clipboard.2
DO NOT ACCEPT the tentative snap!
Now go to the edit menu and pick Copy.
Use Paste from the edit menu to place this selection in your file and you will find that where
you placed the tentative snap before is now the origin. Your Selection set will be hanging on
your cursor. Now you can place your Selection precisely where you need it. No more guess
work or having to move it again.
