Microstation Tips & Information:
Using active points to place elements repeatedly.
Points (dots) are elements that will not plot. Use them as placeholders to locate callouts in the
same place on several drawings. Select a color and weight (e.g., 10), and the point will be
easy to see. In the border file, place the elements in the correct location (Fig. M.1).
FIGURE M.12
Use the Power Selection Tool to highlight the elements and the point placed. Move them just
outside the border where they can be easily found when in the active drawing (Fig. M.2). Clear
the elements from the selection set.
FIGURE M.2
In the active drawing, repeat the above step, only this time, use the Copy command. Locate
should be ON for the border reference file. Snap to the point (dot) placed, then snap to the
original position on the border (Fig. M.3). Clear the elements from the selection set.
You will now be able to place callouts in the same location on every sheet!
