Linking to External Data
When creating file-based feature sources in Autodesk MapGuide?Enterprise software using
Autodesk MapGuide?Studio functionality (”Studio”), the data files are stored in the server’s
resource repository. When the file that is used for the resource is large, 1) it becomes problematic
to upload the data into the repository; and 2) the data file is duplicated. By manually creating
feature sources that reference existing data files, both of these issues can be resolved. Because
it is not possible to create these feature sources using Studio, you must take the manual steps
described in this document.
The following document describes the steps to take to create feature sources for SDF, SHP, and
Raster data.
