Accessibility Standards
Accessibility standards for electronic and information technology covered by Section 508 of
the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998 have been defined by the Architectural and
Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (Access Board). These standards provide both a
definition of electronic and information technology and the technical and functional
performance criteria necessary for such technology to be accessible.
This paper provides information to help you understand the accessibility features of
Autodesk MapGuide 6.3 software, in the context of the Section 508 standards.
We are awaiting guidance from the government to understand what constitutes compliance
and how our government customers can satisfy their Section 508 obligations.
The document contains subsets of the Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility
Standards as published in 36 CFR Part 1194 and provides an analysis of Autodesk MapGuide
as compared to these standards.
