During a mixed dealer and press event in London, Samsung officially announced the Samsung G800
camera phone. The high resolution 5 Megapixel Samsung G800 is an enhanced version of the G600.
Samsung introduce the new G800 camera phone as a striking digital camera that can also be used as a
mobile phone. Samsung has high expectations from the G800 handset. Samsung had hired part of the

Samsung R&D department
Paul Wilkens, Sales & Marketing Director Telecommunications Benelux, explained as follows: “Our
R&D department developed the camera first and after that the mobile phone to fit around it, in stead of
taking a mobile phone as base and integrate the camera afterwards.”
