Yale University Press has issued a practical and intelligent guide to designing
informational Web pages. Building on the maturity of WWW users and information
professionals of the late 90s, the authors have written a work that outlines, in serious,
professional (and not overly technical) language, successful Web page design. In a
crowded field of competitors, this is no small accomplishment.
The recent literature on Web design is extensive. Elements of Web Design by Darcy
DiNucci (Berkeley, CA: Peachpit Press, 1998), Web by Design: The Complete Guide by
Molly E. Holzsclag, Human Factors and Web Development edited by Chris Forsythe,
