A: With Maya 8 software, Autodesk demonstrates its commitment to meeting the
demands of next-generation productions by addressing the fundamental challenges
customers face today.
Q: What is new in Autodesk Maya 8?
A: For this release, Autodesk focused its efforts in three areas: Core Performance,
Productivity, and Pipeline Efficiencies. Autodesk Maya 8 takes advantage of 64-bit
and multi-core technology to address customer-identified memory and performance
bottlenecks. It maximizes the artist’s productivity for time-consuming tasks with new,
streamlined modelling and texturing tools and workflows. Autodesk Maya 8 also
delivers enhanced pipeline efficiencies to make it easier to manage data in an
environment that may include multiple 2D and 3D tools.
Q. When will Autodesk Maya 8 be available?
A. Maya 8 is scheduled to ship in August 2006. Early-access upgrade downloads for
Platinum members will be available on August 1, 2006. It will ship simultaneously on
