From January 2001, all new passenger cars, off-road vehicles
and light commercial vehicles sold in Australia will display
fuel consumption labels in litres/100 kilometres.
The label, together with the information provided in this
booklet, can save you money on vehicle running costs
and reduce greenhouse gases.
A reduction in fuel consumption of just 1 litre per
100 kilometres could save you about $135 each year,
and help the environment with a reduction of at least
345 kilograms of greenhouse gases.
Passenger vehicles in Australia produce over 40 million
tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year.
Your next car purchase can help reduce these emissions.
