2007 VOLVO S80 V8
The second-generation S80 is all new. Dimensions are a bit more generous (2.7 cm wider, 3.4 cm higher, 4.5 cm more wheelbase) except for overall length, which remains the same. The S80 sedan is available in two versions, one with an in-line six cylinder engine and the other with a 4.4L V8. Both come standard with all-wheel drive and a new six-speed automatic transmission. Available as an option is the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) that monitors driver blind spots using cameras near the outside mirrors.
Interior and trunk
As we have come to expect in a Volvo, the front seats are easy to access and extremely comfortable thanks to the high seatbacks and the many seat adjustments. However, the lumbar support knob on the side of the seat is too close to the centre console and hard to reach. The optional seat ventilation system is very efficient. Drivers easily find a very good driving position. The passenger-side seatback folds flat against the cushion.
The rear bench is comfortable for two adults, though if they are heavily built they may find the contoured cushion and seatback a bit snug….
