THE 2005 XC90
The award-winning1 Volvo XC90 remains extremely popular and desirable, with production of 2004 model year XC90s already sold out, and some owners offering new and used models for sale at a premium. As waiting lists now reach into next year, Volvo is releasing details for orders of the 2005 model year XC902.
Changes to specifications and prices are being kept to a minimum to ensure the XC90 remains extremely competitive.
Details include a new 17in alloy wheel for ‘S’ models, water repellent glass for door mirrors which self cleanse for improved visibility, while SE models also gain electric folding door mirrors with ground lights (previously a ?200 option).
New options available include water repellent glass for front side windows and a passenger airbag cut-off switch.
To reflect customers’ desires for high, luxury specifications3, the optional ‘Premium Pack’ is considerably enhanced with desirable goodies added, such

as Bi-Xenon headlamps, heated seats, and premium sound system with Mini Disc player, Dolby Pro Logic surround sound, 12 speakers and a subwoofer. To reflect this, the new 2005 Premium Pack costs ?2,400, against the 2004 price of ?1,100.
An integrated GSM telephone and satellite navigation system remain in the optional ‘Communications Pack’, which is reduced in price from ?3,200 to ?2,600.
Three new exterior colours are available: Cedar Green Pearl and Magic Blue Pearl, plus Titanium Grey which was previously only available on the Executive model.
Detailed changes to specification and options for 2005 XC90 Executive models will be available later this year. This top-of-the-range model already features unique 18in wheels, upgraded soft leather upholstery and detailing, a refrigerator, and Rear Seat Entertainment including a DVD player with two 6in widescreens for rear passengers to watch films or play electronic games.
