Quick Tips: Image Scanning
on WIN XP Workstations 7, 9 and 23

1. Select Adobe Photoshop from the Start menu. Start > Programs > Adobe Photoshop. Lift the cover
on the scanner and align the document to be scanned in the upper right corner of the glass. Close the
cover.
2. Select File > Import from the top menu. Select WIA HewlettPackard.
from the pulldown
menu.
Do not select HP PrecisionScan Pro
3. Select Preview in the HP scanning
application. An image of the scanned
document will appear on the screen. The
image is outlined in black dash marks to
reflect the final scanned image. You may
adjust the selection by dragging the
squares around the picture.
4. Select Adjust the quality of the scanned picture.
5. Consider resolution (pixels per square inch).
The resolution will default to 150 or 200 pixels
per inch. this is print quality and not suitable
for uploading to the Web, to share in email
