Connect your handset to PC via USB cable
I. Use NEC 338 as wireless modem for Internet browsing with Windows 98 SE
(A) Installing the 338 USB driver on Windows 98SE
Do the following to install the USB driver on Windows 98SE:
1. Do not connect your 338 to the PC/laptop.
2. Close all active applications on your PC/laptop and start Windows.
3. Put the 338 Tools and Utilities CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. The CDROM should start automatically. If it does not, run start.exe from the CDROM root directory.
4. Select the Drivers menu item, then the 338 USB Driver menu option.
5. The Drivers Wizard will now start. Click Next to proceed.
6. When the warning dialog is displayed to check that the phone is unplugged from the PC/laptop, click OK.
7. The Licence Agreement screen is presented. Read the licence agreement and select Yes to proceed.
8. After the software has been installed, a dialog will be displayed to ask you to plug in the 338 and switch it on. This should now be done.
9. Press Next for each dialog presented, until the final dialog is presented…
