Business Objects - Internet Explorer 7 Compatibility Upgrade
Overview
With the release of Internet Explorer version 7 (IE7), problems were discovered regarding compatibility with Business Objects (BusObj). Decision Support has worked with Business Objects to find a solution. This document provides instructions for implementing the solution that includes:
a. a patch to provide for compatibility between BusObj and IE7
b. a registration key change to IE7’s default timeout setting
The patch installation is mandatory for all BusObj users. In addition to IE7 compatibility, the patch includes several other minor fixes and enhancements.
The registration key change is only required to use BusObj with IE7. However, it is highly recommended to make the registration key change at the same time as the patch installation. Without this change, BusObj will not function properly with IE7. Making this change at the time of patch installation will fully prepare the computer for IE7 and will save system administration time in the future.
This upgrade will require the BusObj patch to be downloaded onto the local computer system. Administrator access to the local computer system is needed to successfully perform this required reinstallation. If you are not the administrator, you must perform…
