Introduction
Microsoft has launched a new
version of its ubiquitous web
browser, Internet Explorer 7. Unlike previous updates which you
had to download yourself, Internet Explorer 7 is being distributed
automatically to Windows XP users through the Microsoft Update
service. In this technology briefing we look some of the useful new
features offered by Internet Explorer 7 and how to start using them.
What’s changed?
Although many of the new features have been available in other
browsers for a while, this update is a major step forward and
includes:
1. A new look
Buttons, menus and the address bar have been re-organised to
make browsing easier.
2. Tabbed browsing
This new feature allows you to open multiple websites in a
single browser window. You can open web pages or links on
new tabs and then switch between them by clicking the tab. If
you have a lot of tabs open, Quick Tabs lets you easily switch
between them.
3. Instant Search…
