Nokia has also been generous with the
high-resolution, QVGA-quality display. Its
ample size is great for reading web
pages, images and documents.
If you’re a businessman, the E50 has
all the right PIM functionality to keep your
life organised and in check. The Nokia PC
Suite software to sync your PC’s Outlook
contacts, calendar and tasks can be
downloaded for free. Similarly, it supports
many push-email providers like Nokia’s
Intellisync Wireless Email, BlackBerry
Connect, Visto Mobile, ActiveSync Mail
for Exchange and Altexia. The E50 has a
business software icon in the Office menu
section that’s linked to Nokia’s business
site and a selection of software can be
downloaded from there. We set up the
ActiveSync Mail For Exchange and it was
pretty simple procedure, with our emails
ready for ‘pushing’ almost instantly.
Probably the one disappointment with
the E50 is it isn’t 3G-enabled like the rest
of the Eseries. Instead it supports EDGE
(2.75) for its fastish connectivity and
downloads speeds. It’s a shame because
it did take a while to download a 500Kb
email attachment over a GPRS
