How to set up your i-mate. SPL as a Wireless Modem
Your i-mate. SPL can be configured to act as a modem for your PC, allowing you to have a connection to the internet while you are out of the office or away from home. You can connect your PC to your SPL using Bluetooth or USB.
Although setting the device up for Internet sharing the first time may take some minutes, you only need to do these actions once per PC. Subsequent connections are quick and are explained at the end of each configuration.
Before you start, you must ensure Activesync 4.2 is installed on your PC. You can find this program on the Getting Started CD that came with your device. You cannot run this function with earlier versions of Activesync.
Note 1: Screenshots were taken from a Windows XP PC running a Microsoft Windows Bluetooth stack. Your Bluetooth application on your PC may be different on your PC, but the principles are the same.
