Guidelines for i-mate. SPL Activesync Connection over Bluetooth
The instructions given below guide you through the process of connecting your laptop running Windows XP to the i-mate. SPL using Bluetooth, and then configuring for Activesync. This procedure is described in the instructions provided with your device, however here we go into additional detail.
Your smartphone is able to synchronise data such as E-mails, Calendar, Contacts, Media, Internet Explorer Favourites and Tasks when connected via Activesync to your PC. The connection will also allow your SPL to access the Internet via your PC, if the PC is connected to the Internet.
Note 1 : Different makes of PCs have different programs to run Bluetooth. This guide has instructions for users running Windows XP Service Pack 2, and for users running Windows XP with Bluetooth Widcomm stacks. Instructions specifically for Widcomm users are in italics.
Note 2 : You must be running Microsoft Activesync 4.2 or later. You can install Activesync 4.2 from the Getting Started CD than came with your SPL.
