Sigma 24-60/2.8 Len Test
Short Description
This not-at-all-perfect test was done for the benefit of the online photo community. There are exactly zero tests of this lens on the Net and only a few test shots. In order to help others I have tested the lens as best I could. The test is far from perfect but it should suffice to give you, dear reader, a general impression of what kind of glass Sigma makes nowadays.

Test Sheet
A file called “USAF.pdf”, printed on a Hewlett Packard Color Laserjet 2500, 600×600 DPI. The paper used was normal office weight 80 gram, which I tried to stabilize by adding four sheets of 160gram paper behind it, paper clipped together. The stack of paper was then put in a hardcover binder.
Locale
Outside in the garden. The weather was damp, which gave the paper a tendency to curl up. Hence the use of the 4 sheets of 160gram behind it.
Equipment
Canon 10D, iso100, Manfrotto 190CLB tripod, Manfrotto 488 ball head with hexagonal plate, no portrait grip, wired shutter release, mirror-lockup with several seconds of waiting between the flip of the mirror and the taking of the picture. Autofocus/Manual focus once before the millimeter series was taken (read: no focus change between shots). One B+W UV-filter (F-pro, if that makes any difference - no I’m not taking it off).
