Today at Ultimate PC Reviews we are going to be looking at one of Canons more affordable, beginner DSLR. Costing approximately £300 GBP with the body & lens which makes it a great entry point for those interested in photography. It features a 2.5” LCD screen, Live View, 7 Point Auto-Focus, 10.1 Megapixels – that’s just some of the features, which to me aren’t too low end at all.

Packaging
The Canon 1000D is packaged in the same packaging as the other, more expensive models that Canon offer. The front of the packaging shows the body of the camera itself, the Canon logo, model number – as well as a few of its main features highlighted. The left of the packaging gives a list of what is included with the 1000D body. The rear of the packaging gives system requirements. The right side of the packaging has the Canon logo, model number as well as barcode/serial information. The top of the packaging is essentially a mirror of the front of the packaging.
Canon 1000D & 18-55mm Lens
The Canon 1000D feels relatively smaller in the hand compared to previous DSLR’s we have looked at. It feels slightly lighter too. The 1000D has the same black matte external finish, as do the more high end, more expensive DSLRs that Canon offer. The 1000D has a 2.5” LCD, and various buttons situated to the right of the LCD, which allow you to navigate around the menu – and adjust settings such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO speed etc.
