Rather than review every aspect, I am going to discuss specific features that I feel put this camera beyond competitors in its price class. The features I found worth noting are: a 2.5 inch LCD monitor; 10.1 megapixel (MP) resolution; the EOS Integrated Cleaning System (a selfcleaning sensor); a nine-point autofocusing system, full compatibility with all current EF and EF-S lenses, and a standard hot shoe.
The 2.5-inch LCD monitor is important because with a smaller monitor, you have to enlarge and scroll the image to see whether you really captured the image you wanted or if the subject blinked, etc. Frequently, you have to take a few extra exposures to make sure you’ve got your shot. However, with a 2.5-inch LCD, I find I can often can see immediately whether the picture is acceptable or not, and sometimes don’t need to take those extra shots. That alone makes shooting faster, with less wear and tear on the camera. (It’s also a pleasure to show portrait subjects a nice big image of your capture.)
