Unlocking Maps
Some MapSource products need to be unlocked before you can use the detailed map data. If your product needs to be unlocked, you will find a piece of paper in the product packaging with an Unlock Code or a Coupon Code.
The first time you run MapSource with locked maps installed, the Locked Maps Detected dialog box will prompt you to unlock your maps. You can also unlock your maps from within MapSource.

Creating and Editing Waypoints
A waypoint is any point on the Graphic Map that you store in memory. Waypoints are also known as “My Locations” or “Favorites” in some GPS Units. You can easily create waypoints in MapSource and then transfer them to your GPS unit. You can also load waypoints from your GPS unit into MapSource and then edit them.
