Changing a Background in Photoshop

Changing a Background in PhotoshopShort Description
Removing an object from it’s background to place it within another image, or to give it a new background can be done various ways in Photoshop. The method that gives the best (cleanest) results is to use the pen tool to create a ‘work path’ around the object and then copy it to a new file. (This will be tutorial #3 in this series-this is also the method I’ve come to use most.)

Another method uses the “extract filter” - this works pretty well for simple objects, but leaves you with a little more roughness around the edges. Those can easily be smoothed out using the eraser tool once it’s copied to a new background. (This will be tutorial #2 in this series)
There is also a background eraser tool in Photoshop, which I almost never use. Unless your original background is all one color, it’s not the best tool to choose and I won’t be writing a tutorial on this one. It’s difficult to get a good job with this tool - especially for beginners.
