Adding a Border
The following tutorial has been carried out using Photoshop CS, but Photoshop 7 can also be used. The tutorial explains how to set a border around a photograph using layers.

Step 1 – The Photograph
1. Firstly you want to open the photograph you wish to add a border to. I always work in Photoshop with all the tool boxes open and always use the magnifying glass to fit on screen – as below:
2. At the bottom right hand side of my screen, I have the Layers Palette – as can be seen above. The Background Layer is the photograph that has been opened.
3. The first thing to do is to unlock the layer (signified with the little padlock).
4. Double Click the little padlock and the New Layer dialogue box is displayed. You can name the layer or leave is at its default.
