An interference fit condition does exist involving some Chevrolet Beretta, Corsica and Cavalier models equipped with a 4-cylinder 2.0 litre engine which can cause damage to the oil filter resulting in oil leakage. A clamp which holds the constant velocity (C-V) joint boot cover in position can come in contact with the oil filter. The clinch tab of the boot clamp will strike the oil filter as the drive shaft turns, eventually wearing a hole in the filter shell.
