The High Dynamic Range (HDR) Landscape Photography Tutorial
Short Description
As a wildlife and landscape photography enthusiast with a couple of years of serious digital shooting under my belt, I do not claim to be an expert with High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging or photography in general. But I have fun in the field, enjoy learning as much as I can about the art and science of photography, and have produced some images that are personally rewarding, as well as enjoyed by others. I currently derive particular satisfaction from working with stitched panoramas taken at sunrise or sunset, printed on roll stock. Late in 2005 I began adding HDR processing into my workflow. This was done to gain greater access to the tonality present in wide and dramatically lit vistas. I mostly bypassed the usual digital exposure blending route as it seemed labor intensive, although I know the technique can produce results. Naturally I posted several HDR images to Naturescapes.Net (NSN), and several people expressed interest in the technique used to create these images. At the request of the NSN editorial team, I organized my learning and thinking about HDR, and this article is the result.

The Nikon D100 - Review
Short Description
I didn’t want to like the D100 but that’s not how it’s turned out! As soon as the D100 slipped into my hands and I looked through the viewfinder, I instantly grew fond of this little digital. While the D100 only weighs a mere 24.7oz, it is packed with goodies. I had to wonder with the 6MP CCD and the low price, what the compromise was in the D100 since Nikon doesn’t give you more for less. The compromise is in the one place that makes the most sense, and that’s write times, because it sure ain’t in image quality. The D100 delivers features you won’t find in any other camera. Point blank, the D100 delivers image quality, no mistaking that!

An Introduction to the Nikon Creative Lighting System
Short Description
If you have one of the newer Nikon digital SLR’s (D70, D70s or D200), you have, whether you realize it or not, one of the most advanced flash systems available at any price built right into your camera. At the same time, if you’ve tried to read the camera manual and the flash manual and actually make it work, there’s a real good chance that you’ve thrown up your arms in disgust and given up on the whole idea. Like everything else, it’s not that hard once you understand it. It took me several attempts to get it to work, but once it does work, it’s pretty easy to use. What I’m going to try to do here is get you started using the system. Once you gotten over the original hump, the sky is pretty much the limit.

The Nikon COOLPIX 990 Guide to Digital Photography
Short Description
Any photographs taken before the time and date have been set will have a time stamp of “2000/01/01 0:00”. Until you have set the time and date, a flashing clock icon will be displayed in the top right corner of the LCD monitor when the camera is set to A-REC or M-REC. The clock-calendar is powered by a separate, rechargeable battery, which is charged as necessary when the main batteries are installed. If the camera has been stored with the main batteries removed for a long period of time, the clock may need to be reset. Once the main batteries have been reinserted, the clock battery will recharge in several hours, during which time the batteries should be left in the camera.
